Social Media Disclaimer

Comments to Johnson Memorial Medical Center’s (JMMC) social media sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, are encouraged, and we look forward to hearing from you. We ask that you maintain a level of respect when posting and do not create posts that may be obscene, offensive, sexually explicit, profane or off topic. JMMC is unable to respond to all posts or inquiries – especially those pertaining to specific medical cases and concerns. Be aware of material you post and the extent to which you list personal and/or medical information, as it will be published on the Internet.

JMMC reserves the right, but is not obligated to:

  • Review, reproduce, distribute, edit, delete, publish, create various works from and use for any and all media purposes – any submission to JMMC’s social media sites.
  • Remove or reject any submission regardless of whether or not it violates this disclaimer.
  • Terminate a user’s access, for any reason – listed in this disclaimer or not – to any JMMC social media site.
  • Amend this disclaimer at any time for any reason.

In posting material on the JMMC social media sites, you agree that you will not:

  • Post material that violates the rights of JMMC or any other party – including but not limited to intellectual, privacy or publicity rights.
  • Post material that solicits, advertises or promotes any business, service, individual or entity.
  • Allow any other individual or entity to use your identification for posting and/or viewing comments.
  • Impersonate another entity or individual.
  • Post the same comment multiple times, distribute “spam” or chain letters.
  • Post personal and/or medical information of you or any other individual or entity, including but not limited to phone numbers or addresses.

As a user, you also agree to indemnify and hold harmless JMMC – its affiliates, employees and physicians – against any liabilities, losses, damages, judgments, causes of action, costs or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) arising out of any claim by a third party relating to any material you have posted.
